What is an Evaporator Coil and what does it do?
Your HVAC Evaporator Coil is an important component to your central air-conditioning system and it plays a vital role in keeping your home cool. When there's a problem with your ac evaporator coil, you'll definitely notice.
When you think about air conditioning, cold air is most likely the first thing that you think about. The cold air that blows throughout your HVAC system is actually delivered by the blower motor blowing air across the evaporator coil.

The really cool thing about today's high tech designed HVAC systems...
Most people think that the HVAC system are cooling the air, but in reality, the HVAC system as been specifically designed to remove the heat from the air being circulated throughout your HVAC system.

This may sound like double talk, but it really makes a difference, your HVAC system functions in a very complex and complicated way to make this happen.

As you can see from the above images, the HVAC Evaporator Coil is typically upright in an "A" frame shape. The panels are lined with "fins" which are thin metal strips that allow the passing air to get as close as possible to the coil tubing.

The Evaporator is where the cold air actually comes from and the coils are made from metals that easily conduct heat. Frequently the coils are made from copper, but steel and aluminum is also used. The tubes are bent into "U" shapes and are stacked into a panel.

Making sure you choose an Evaporator Coil that matches your overall HVAC system is very important and SuitsAC.com has the Experience and Expertise to help you with your choice.
